Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ConvertSamurai (the "Service") at www.convertsamurai.com. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
ConvertSamurai is a free, browser-based image conversion tool. All file conversion happens locally on your device — files are never uploaded to our servers. The Service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use the Service to process images you do not have the legal right to use, modify, or distribute
- Use the Service to process content that is illegal in your jurisdiction (including, but not limited to, content that depicts child exploitation, contains malware, or infringes intellectual property)
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the Service or its infrastructure
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract content from the Service for commercial redistribution without permission
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law
3. Your files and content
Because conversion happens entirely in your browser, we never receive copies of your files. You retain all rights, title, and interest in any file you process through the Service. We make no claim of ownership over your content.
4. Intellectual property
The Service itself — including its design, code, branding, logos, and content — is owned by ConvertSamurai and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service without our written permission.
5. Third-party services and links
The Service may contain links to or integrations with third-party services (such as Google AdSense, CDNs that host JavaScript libraries, and our hosting provider). Your use of any third-party service is governed by that service's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the practices of third parties.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any conversion will produce a perfect or commercially acceptable result. You use the Service at your own risk.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CONVERTSAMURAI OR ITS OPERATORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING (BUT NOT LIMITED TO) LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, IMAGES, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD $100).
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ConvertSamurai and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
9. Modifications to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuance.
10. Modifications to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
